Exploratory Path- Tesla

Photo of the Tesla Store at Avalon

To begin, my passion for cars dates back to as far as I can remember. Since I was young, I had always been obsessed with cars. I used to collect posters of my favorite car brands such as Lamborghini, Ferarri, BMW, and Mercedes and had tiny model cars to play with that helped feed my passion. I was really the only one out of my friends who had liked cars as much as I did which made it really hard to connect with others about hobbies and interests. As my love for cars grew more and more through the years Tesla finally branded its name as a futuristic, high-end car manufacturer. It was love at first sight. Having Elon Musk as one of my role models I immediately became obsessed with his cars, and the “Tesla” name. The futuristic design and high-end technology are the two main aspects of the car that really captivated my obsession. One of my favorite aspects of these cars is how they are able to drive themselves in autopilot mode. Which is one of the reasons why I bumped Tesla up to one of my top 3 favorite car companies.

Every time I visit Avalon I feel as if I need to go into Tesla and look around. I don’t know why but I never get tired of that store. I remember the first time I went to the Tesla store at Avalon, It was a week after opening and I was astonished by what I was looking at. An old high school friend of mine went into the store and spent at least 45 minutes in there just walking around and looking at the different catalogs of the cars and skimming through books written about Elon. And don’t get me wrong, this is a tiny store, there’s no way you can spend that much time in there if you aren’t a nerd for cars. The way I would describe the store is simple. There’s nothing flashy about it, plain white walls with red accents everywhere on one side of the store while the other is sheer glass. The side with the plain white walls includes two TV’s showing videos of the specs of their different models. When you walk in, you are greeted by the Model S on the showroom floor. It’s routine that every time I visit the store, I go sit in the car and mess around with all the controls and settings you are able to adjust in the car. They also have a “build your own car” station in the store that I also enjoy playing with. It allows you to build your perfect Tesla. You are able to choose what color car you want, what color and texture of leather different specs of the interior… Since cars are my passion, and Elon Musk being one of my many role models, I know for a fact that going into Tesla will never get old, and the Tesla name will always be close to my heart.
