Image a Day Reflection

Before the chaos with the Coronavirus arose, I began to take a picture every day and post it on my blog. No doubt this was one of my favorite things I have ever done. I had the pleasure of looking back when this school semester had started and seen pictures I had taken and instantly remembering what I had been doing that day, along with the rest.

Dirt bike memory

To the left was the first Image a day I had posted on my blog. Although it was months ago, I remember this day like it was yesterday. One of my best friends, Chase, had recently gotten a dirt bike. Being that we lived in student housing, we kept it in our living room and wheeled it out to the parking garage for a quick ride. I remember as we pushed it down the hall the smell of gas lingered every step of the way. This was in fact the first time I had every rode a dirt bike. Chase so gracious to share his new toy and let me drive it. I was beyond scared felt like I was going to end up in the hospital at the end of the night, (thankfully that didn’t happen).

As I began to look back on the on my all the pictures I had posted, I noticed a trend. Most of my pictures involved activities and shenanigans throughout these couple months with my friends, specifically my two best ones. Chase and Alex. Without these two amazing people, my life would be as dull as it gets, I love these guys to death and couldn’t imagine life without them. Most of everything I had posted was with them. And the more I think about it, thats what I wanted. My goal for this semester was to work on time management. I wanted to be able to focus on my academics but also make time for the important people in my life, my friends. Looking back at these pictures, it unlocked countless memories I had with them and the fun times we shared throughout this semester. I wouldn’t trade these memories and stories for the world. Each picture represents the best point of my day and it makes me beyond happy to be sharing this with everyone. This image a day has taught me is that everyday there are endless possibilities. Take each day with a grain of salt and do what makes you happy. Who knows what could happen, go drive around Georgia and take in nature with an all day excursion and road trip. Or go and do something you’ve never done before ride a dirt bike, or change the upper control arms on a car! The world has such variety, and so many things to do and explore. Yes, it may be corny, but I do believe in the saying “YOLO” (you only live once). Take what you want from this phrase and make a good day out of it.

The end of our journey

I’d like to showcase my favorite memory of this semester with my best friend Alex. A couple of months ago, we made it our goal to do something fun and exciting every weekend. We both loved driving around and exploring new places we haven’t seen or been to before. So one weekend, we decided to take a cross Georgia road trip. With little to no planning, we were ready and on our way. We visited some of the most beautiful hot spots around Georgia such as Blood Mountain, Raven Cliff Falls, and Bell Mountain. After being on the road all day we managed to visit every spot we had planned to go see. The views were breathtaking, and the things we did throughout the day made it the best day of exploring we had ever had. Alex, I love you to death man, I can’t thank you enough for all the amazing memories we’ve had in our life. I’m more than thankful to call you my brother, I love you man. Another favorite memory of this semester I would like to share is with my best friend Chase. Since we were younger, we had always had these nights we called “GTA nights”. Were I would come over and play Grand Theft Auto with him. This was our time to talk about anything. But more importantly our passion, cars. We would talk about our two favorite types of vehicles, “Jeeps and trucks” for hours upon hours. He always wanted a Jeep and a truck, and I always wanted a clean looking truck. Our dream was to help each other with this goal. He wanted to build a truck for Baja racing and I told him I wanted to build one for towing his truck to the races. Don’t feel obligated to watch that video of what Baja racing is unless you want too”. Sure enough, he decided to follow his dream and major in Automotive Engineering. He works at a mechanic shop that modifies jeeps known as “Fortec“. Through this job he has gained a crazy amount of knowledge that he passes to me and which helps me understand vehicles and the things, he does on a day-to-day basis. These past couple of months I have learned so much from him and I’m more than thankful for it. I know that this is the right move for him and I have no doubt in my mind that he will succeed in everything he puts his mind to, I love you chase, keep doing you, buddy. Freshman year roommates

Throughout all the photos I posted on my image a day section in my blog this has to be my favorite. No matter how bad my day is, no matter how bad of a week I may be having, this picture brings me joy. To me, life is about the people you meet, and the things that bring you happiness. These are my 3 best friends, I wouldn’t trade any of them for the world. These three guys are my best friends, my brothers. We’ve all grown together as people and I wish nothing but the best for all of them. These guys are my family.
